Selcuk was truly outstanding. He was very knowledgeable, very well organized, exceptionally entertaining and friendly. He provided so many little extra touches, such as summarizing the latest newspaper articles as we were travelling. We appreciate the pride he feels in his country, and our trip will always be very special because of having Selcuk as our tour guide.

Selcuk was a real gem of a guide. Technically correct from the outset, he was able from the beginning to elicit humor from the group. As we all became better acquainted, Selcuk's natural manner enabled him to keep us moving, occupied, and entertained. He was sensitive to personal needs as they arose. It seemed to me that each of us came quickly to accept Selcuk as a personal friend; it takes a person with exceptional qualities to foster such a reaction within a group of strangers in such a short time. The driver, whose name I cannot pronounce, was quite proficient. He did not speak English and of course I don't speak Turkish, so communication was left to nods and smiles.

I think you did a good job giving reading lists, etc........... Maybe more of a push to get people to do some reading would be OK, just so they would be partly familiar with cities, sites, history and cultural issues.

Turkey is a magical, astonishing place, worth a repeat trip or two. It has everything--beaches, mountains, plains, cities, long history, strategic location. A visit to Turkey should be "mandatory" for anyone who wants to understand current political events in Europe, the middle east or the caucuses.

I think the tour was a great mixture of large cities and small villages and I really appreciated the chance to meet some Turkish people and have a dialogue with them. Our guide's vast knowledge of Turkey, her history, culture and customs was shared willingly without our feeling lectured.

the Blue Mosque and Haiga Sophia area up to midnight and beyond. I will never forget the picture I took of the mineret of the Mosque with a quarter moon to the left of it and rising!

The hot air balloon ride over Cappadocia! Worth every penny/Euro! It was truly magic! A stretch for our budget but we are so happy that we made the stretch!

There were many spectecular moments on this trip: seeing ancient ruins, meeting warm people, experiencing a Turkish bath, cruising the Bosphorus and Mediterranean. It's hard to narrow it down to just one moment.
