A great deal of this was due to Selcuk. He had the knack for leading us with a gentle hand; suggesting, giving the details . When we first started the tour, I thought is was kind of loose from an instruction standpoint; also detailed about when and where to meet. But, we all got to the right location at the right time! He treated us like intelligent adults!
Loraine in Kalispell, MT, 2011
Selcuk was a fantastic guide. His quick wit and excellent sense of humor were a delight to all of us. Not a day went by when he didn't have us laughing and learning at the same time. His network of friends and his ability to think on his feet were remarkable, as evidenced by our visit to the country primary school. It seemed like we made friends all along our route because of the people he already knew or met along the way.
Christopher in Kalispell, MT, 2011
There is nothing we can add to Selcuk's expertise, desire to make us all Turks, and constant sense of humor.
Robert in LaCanada, CA, 2011
Excellent. Selcuk is a gem. He has innate leadership and management skills. I cannot believe how well this young man communicated, made decisions and was always full of energy. He used humor (appropriately) and a very down-to-earth style to keep us working as a group.
William in Pacific Grove, CA, 2011
The guide, Selcuk, was just outstanding in every respect. I was extremely impressed with not only his knowledge of the history and culture of his own country, but his understanding of other cultures and his grasp of the political context of history and culture. In addition, Selcuk had exceptional English language skills, including American idioms, and delivered his information with warmth, humor and sensitivity. Finally, Selcuk was so thoroughly personable that he became essentially a friend to all of us in the tour group.
Lee in San Diego, CA, 2011
Selcuk was a wonderful guide who gave us a window into his beloved Turkey. He arranged for many special experiences and always had a sense of humor. There are a few people left in Turkey that he doesn't know, but not many. Thanks, Selcuk, for making so many good memories!
Leslie in Decatur, GA, 2011
We could not have had a better guide. Selcuk's knowledge is amazing, his sense of humor great and his attention to every detail made the trip a delight. I cannot think of any way to improve.
Louis in College Station, TX, 2011
Ayse was a marvelous guide and gracious person. She managed to accommodate a fairly diverse group of people and did it with respectful humor. Her knowledge of history, art, and cultural practices was excellent. I especially valued how Ayse connected history along a time-line and across locations. She was well spoken while teaching us about her country and orienting us to the activities of the day.
Paul in Portland, OR, 2011
Ayse was an excellent tour guide!! She did a great job of orienting us to each location. She was very knowlegeable about Turkish politics, religion, and culture. She was an excellent translator which gave us great insight as to what the locals had to say and I never had a problem understanding her english or her intent. She loves her country very much but also has a sense of humor about it when appropriate.
Mark in Groves, TX, 2011
Ayse was always punctual, dependable and cheerful. She always looked after our welfare and interests. Enjoyed her sense of humor. She kept us abreast of the country's current events that were interesting.
Scott in Honolulu, HI, 2011
All supurlative skills
Archibald in Bellevue, WA, 2011
Hasan's knowledge of history and current events were outstanding. I think as the tour progressed he had a better feel for his group and his orientations improved significantly. I think he would benefit at some point and time to visit the US and gain perspective.
Raymond in Portland, OR, 2011
* Tell us about the performance of your driver
Very impressive skills, especially on those narrow streets. Felt very safe with Mehmet at the wheel. Also at breakfast, got to talk with him about his family and felt like we had another "local" with our tour group.
Kathie Marcland,2011
Our driver was fantastic. He negotiated extremely difficult driving conditions with the utmost ease leaving us all in extreme comfort. Besides being a great, safe driver, Mehmet had quite an entertaining and amusing personality. Despite his not speaking English very much (and my not speaking Turkish) we were able to joke around and share some fun moments.
June in Santa Clara, CA, 2011
He is very helpful and friendly.
Melinda in La Habra, CA, 2011
Safe
Alain in La Habra, CA, 2011
Driver was excellent. He put everyone completely at ease with his patient, steady, gentle manner of operating.
David in St Petersburg, FL, 2011
Great!
Christopher in Forest Grove, OR, 2011
Can, though he did not speak a lick of english, was quite friendly, and has the sort of personality that you grow to like and respect as time progresses. We all felt that he performed above and beyond his expected role, and his efforts to hurry us across destinations and accommodate our packing needs deserves much praise.
Robert in La Habra, CA, 2011
Our driver did not speak English so did not seem part of the group. But, he got us everywhere safely and was always courteous.
Leo in Missoula, MT, 2011
Safe and excellent driver.
Percy in The Woodlands, TX, 2011
Just great!
Jean in Kalispell, MT, 2011
Mehmet was professional, courteous and helpful.
Ella in LaCanada, CA, 2011
Mehmet was wonderful as well. He always drove cautiously and was a perfect gentleman. We enjoyed his playful side as well.
Peter in Southwest Harbor, ME, 2011
Mehmet was a great driver. He was safe and followed all traffic laws - we always felt very comfortable with him behind the wheel. And, he is a very nice person too!
Peter in Pacific Grove, CA, 2011
Mehmet was a skilful driver. Although he spoke little English, we all had a good laugh when he blew his whistle and called, "Buddy check!"
Anne in Decatur, GA, 2011
Mehmet was EXCELLENT!!!
Beatrice in Davenport, IL, 2011
Mehmet was a joy and his skill with the bus was amazing.
Suzie in College Station, TX, 2011
* Could our office have better oriented and prepared you for your tour?
We felt the advise to make post tour arrangements from Kusadasi when we got there was confusing and even though it worked out every well, perhaps we should have made the arrangements for those extra days ahead of time.
Brad in Flossmoor, IL, 2010
We were very well oriented and everything went smoothly.
John in Sedro-woolley, WA, 2010
Well prepared
Cindy in Winnetka, IL, 2010
No, you did a very good job.
Michael in Seattle, WA, 2010
We have traveled a lot prior to this tour, our first, so we were pretty much aware of what to expect.
Frank in Sedro-woolley, WA, 2010
I don't think so. We had plenty of time to prepare, to look at maps, to read background material (we thought the novel Birds Without Wings was very good for that).
Tony in Sacramento, CA, 2010
No, I believe your office gave us the help we needed.
Lucia in Sagle, ID, 2010
I don't think so--I did quite a bit of reading on my own before leaving, and used your recommendations
Sue in Alexandria, VA, 2010
All OK.
Susie in Long Beach, WA, 2010
No, I think the preparation was good.
Patsy in Washington, DC, 2010
Not particularly.
Joe in Silver Spring, MD, 2010
Great job
Oliver in Nashville, TN, 2010
They did a good job.
Ted in Philadelphia, PA, 2010
Maybe stress a little more the importance of arriving TWO days early. It took a couple of days to feel fresh, and by then, Istanbul was gone. Of course, that's my fault even more!!
Amelie in Herminie, PA, 2010
Good job
Tom in Lynchburg, VA, 2010
Everything was fine in this area. I felt we were very prepared. Only one thing. We were not prepared for the heat 44 celius on some days. I know that you had no control, but the heat was a challenge on some days we had to walk for 4 miles.
Yehuda in Toronto, ON, 2010
* Do you have any more comments about your tour?
Only that we are very glad we took the trip. After your tour ended, we connected with"Hassle Free" tours in order to see Troy and Gallipolli and get back to the Istanbul airport. Their organization and communication skills are so far below yours that it was painful at times. While they provided an outstanding guide for Troy, their guide for Pergamun (which we did not actually want to visit but were forced into taking--and paying for) was so limited in English we don't know if he knows a lot about the site or not. I won't dwell on them, save to say the contrast was noticable.
Thomson in Wynne, AR, 2011
A revelation. We learned about the Muslim faith and people.
Don in Los Altos, CA, 2011
I couldn't be more enthusiastic about Turkey. I LOVED THIS TOUR
Damla in Seattle, WA, 2011
Could not have been with a more fun and vibrant group of people, including Ayse, our guide. Huseyn, our driver was a master at navigating winding roads and city streets. Please pay both of them welll...and keep them on the payroll for future tours.
Francis in Reno, NV, 2011
It was better than I expected and will do another tour with you.
Tim in Fremont, NE, 2011
we will never forget this wonderful trip. we would recommend it to anyone who is adventurous, curious, adaptable, lover of history and art, and eager to learn more about the cradle of civilization as well as another religious philosophy.
Carol Johnson,2011
It generally lived up to my expectations - except no single men on the tour at all :-)
Julie in Atlanta, GA, 2011
* What is the most spectecular moment for you?
The whole trip was pretty much a spectecular for me. I guess Ephesus was my favorite region because of the small villages, the people. Personally, Ephesus was the grand finale for me.
Zoe in Auburn, WA, 2011
I have many. The Aegea area and visiting with the locals and seeing their homes, Ephesus .
Nicholas in Owego, NY, 2011
Ancient city ruins, Aegea ,archeological museums ,admiration for the great job that the Turkish people are doing in conserving their archeologically significant sites while promoting tourism , reflecting on how well this trip was organized ,especially in providing diverse experiences, opportunities to explore and a learn about this historically rich and fascinating country!
Nathalie in Federal Way, WA, 2011

Landon in Kalamazoo, MI, 2011
Turkey is a spectacular country. We especially enjoyed seeing the countryside and the out-of-the-way places. Having Ayse as our guide brought things alive for us.
Diane in Langley, BC, 2011
So hard to choose. There were many amazing sights and moments on our tour, however the top two would have to be Ephesus and the Hagia Sophia.
