Selcuk, was friendly to everyone on the tour he did his best when people were having problems, either health or hearing I feel he could have been more thorough in some explanations of customs and current issues in Turkey
Vincent in Springfield, OR, 2008
I was quite impressed with Selcuk in general and his williness to answer all questions seeking more info for us when he wasn't sure about something-which wasn't often. He seemed quite well connected to local people and really enjoyed interaction with Turks which he arranged. Excellent English, too.
Barbara in Eugene, OR, 2008
he was as good as any encyclopedia, he was great
James in Redmond, OR, 2008
Selcuk was truly outstanding. He was very knowledgeable, very well organized, exceptionally entertaining and friendly. He provided so many little extra touches, such as summarizing the latest newspaper articles as we were travelling. We appreciate the pride he feels in his country, and our trip will always be very special because of having Selcuk as our tour guide.
Janice in RR1 Lone Butte, BC, 2008
Our guide was the best. He was funny and so well informed about his country and history in general. He made every effort to accommodate each person. It showed that he loved his job and his country.
John in Boise, ID, 2008
Selcuk was an exceptional guide. He has all the necessary tools, has a great sense of humor and is very well versed on Turkey's history. It was always apparent that he loves his country I would go on any tour if I learned Selcuk was to be the guide!
Arnon in San Francisco, CA, 2008
Appreciated Selcuk's knowledge about the history and the historic cultures of Turkey. He was very accessible, mingled with the entire group and answered our questions or got the answers. Very educational! He suggested the local foods to try, which contributed to a memorable experience of local cuisine.
Anthony Merkins,2008
Selcuk was an extremely knowledgeable guide with a seemingly vast grasp of many different issues both inside and surrounding Turkey.
David in Santa Clara, CA, 2008
Good
Cesar in La Habra, CA, 2008
Ayse was well informed with every aspect of Turkish culture, including local customs and national movements. I felt that my time spend with her was invaluable; she is a true teacher who only enhanced the progress of our trip every step of the way. I would definitely like to have someone like Ayse along for every Turkish trip I take.
Douglas in La Habra, CA, 2008
Ayse was super and alot of fun. She is very knowledgeable and her current events from the paper each day was interesting.
Leslie Boomerant,2008
Selcuk was friendly, fun and knowledgeable. He provided suggestions to those who wanted to do their own exploring and managed the tour well. He both educated and entertained the group about history, geography, customs and food.
Lynn in The Woodlands, TX, 2008
Selcuk was a real gem of a guide. Technically correct from the outset, he was able from the beginning to elicit humor from the group. As we all became better acquainted, Selcuk's natural manner enabled him to keep us moving, occupied, and entertained. He was sensitive to personal needs as they arose. It seemed to me that each of us came quickly to accept Selcuk as a personal friend; it takes a person with exceptional qualities to foster such a reaction within a group of strangers in such a short time. I have nothing but the highest opinion of Selcuk as a guide, but more, as a pleasant, highly social, and caring person.
Jonathan in Southwest Harbor, ME, 2008
A great deal of this was due to Selcuk. He had the knack for leading us with a gentle hand; suggesting, giving the details . When we first started the tour, I thought is was kind of loose from an instruction standpoint; also detailed about when and where to meet. But, we all got to the right location at the right time! He treated us like intelligent adults!

* Tell us about the performance of your driver
Our driver did his job very well.
John Armentrout, 2006
Although there were two problems with the bus, a breakdown and a bashed door, that did not detract from the skill and patience of the driver.
Kim Lewrinsinger, 2006
Mahmut was an excellent driver - I am amazed at some of the places he was able to maneuver that big bus. He was also nice enough to let me practice speaking a little Turkish and even taught me a new phrase.
Maria in Beaverton, OR, 2006
Very helpful and acommadating. I was very satisfied.
Ghaffar in Gaithersburg, MD, 2006

Bob in Tinton Falls, NJ, 2006

Oliver in Vancouver, WA, 2006
Mehmet was an excellent driver! How he can maneuver that huge bus through such narrow streets is amazing! He doesn't even break a sweat! I also appreciated his humor and interaction with tour members.
Susie in Olympia, WA, 2006
Mehmet came across as a very nice guy and an extremely skilled driver. He took that bus in places I would not want to take a compact car. Always felt safe in his care.
Frances in Olympia, WA, 2006
The driver was highly skilled but his very limited English language skill prevented him from socializing with the members of the group,
John in Edmonds, WA, 2006

We generally prefer to travel on our own. After this experience, we will consider taking another tour. The pace was right and we saw far more than we would have without the help of a guide.

This tour has made us appreciate a country we knew little about. We went with some doubts and fears. However, we came home remembering the Turks kindness and friendliness, the beautiful countryside, the delicious cuisine, and the feeling of being safe. We were so fortunate to experience all of this.
Mark Ann in Shelton, CT, 2008

Jessie Carnon,2008
This was a great introduction to Turkey. I learned a lot. I learned a lot from listening to our guide and asking him questions. After Istanbul I wished I had The Lonely Planet guidebook for our other destinations.

Matthew in Puyallup, WA, 2007
A truly outstanding tour to a part of the world we need to know and understand better. The culture is different in many ways, but similar in many also. Great job!

Caryn in Tigard, OR, 2007
* What is the most spectecular moment for you?
It was all SPECTECULAR.
Diane in Henderson, NV, 2008
Taking a cruise around the Bosphorus in Istambul and seeing the division between the European side and Asia .
Ella in La Habra, CA, 2008
Having mosques pop up in the viewing screen was a trip for me because they looked like something out of Star Wars.
William in La Habra, CA, 2008
The Ephesus ruins were my favorite part of the tour. We arrived very early before all of the cruise ship tours and the heat. We were able to see most of the site without the big crowds getting in the way. We have found this to be one of the C.A. tour strengths as they often get to the sites before the crowds.
George in Redmond, WA, 2008
Seeing the blue mosque for the first time and hearing the call to prayer; the sights, sounds and smells in the markets; and especially the visits with the local people.
Melanie in The Woodlands, TX, 2008
A sense of time - how old Turkey is, but yet how young the nation is. The peoples pride in their country. The history.
Bill in Kalispell, MT, 2008
Having lunch in a small village with a woman that invited us into her home. It was wonderful to experience hospitality like this. All the people of Turkey were delightful.
Peter in Pacific Grove, CA, 2008
It's really difficult to say. I don't know if I had any one favorite moment or magic memory. I loved Istanbul and hated to leave it. Fortunately, the trip just kept getting better and better.
