Selcuk was the very best tour guide we have had with your tours. I don't say this easily because every guide we have experienced has been extraordinary! He was our walking encyclopedia of ancient history and then all the aspects of Turkey we could ask. He seemed to enjoy us and the trip as much as we enjoyed him!
Mark in Huntington Mills, PA, 2008
Selcuk couldn't have been better as a leader. Responses to questions about differences among sects of Islam could have been more nuanced, e.g. the difference between Shia and Sunni are much richer than the response that the Shia follow Ali.
Penny in Tacoma, WA, 2008
Selcuk is incredible!! His planning and organizational skills are exceptional. His knowledge of history, political events, current events, Turkish culture, etc. were amazing and he had a great way of making history come alive. Selcuk has a great sense of humor and is able to make everyone feel comfortable and part of the group. We can't imagine a finer tour guide!!
Susie in Richmond, VA, 2008
I would go on any tour led by Selcuk.
Jackie in Tacoma, WA, 2008
We thought Selcuk was wonderful. He went out of his way to meet any of our request or to give help anyone needed. He was very knowledgeable and either could answer our questions or found someone who could. We felt he was a great aset to our trip
Michael in Owego, NY, 2008
Selcuk is an outstanding guide -- the excellent people skills, very knowledgeable on a variety of topics, quite accessible for questions, discussion -- sense of humor, personable -- top notch in every respect!
Raymond in Federal Way, WA, 2008
Selcuk was excellent - Seemingly everywhere well connected. With us, he was always very clear with directions and times and showed a sense of humor. He seemed to know what made us tick as well as what made his countrymen tick - the ideal kind of guy to bring us together.
Douglas in Kalamazoo, MI, 2008
Selcuk was the perfect tour guide- very knowledgeable about the history of the places we visited as well as current world events. He was friendly, very accessible to our group, and used his connections to make our experience memorable.
Patrick in Kalamazoo, MI, 2008
Please see the final comments below. Selcuk has some great ideas for Turkey tours. I would hope these might be considered; the Black Sea and eastern Turkey would be really interesting to explore, and the sailing trip down the western coast of Turkey sounds idyllic.
Lynn in Napa, CA, 2008
Ayse is a well educated young woman who is passionate about her country and made us appreciate and understand what an amazing place Turkey is. She is a very special person who was equally respectful and accommodating to everyone's needs on our tour.
Jessie in Langley, BC, 2008
Ayse was awesome! She was very well prepared for each day, and was quickly able to adapt our travel plans for circumstances beyond her control. She gave very clear instructions, gave informative talks on various subjects relating to Turkey, and was very patient and friendly to the tour members.
Laura in Chilliwack, BC, 2008
Ayse is a perfect guide on this tour- she understands current politics of Turkey and Europe, and she also understands enough about us Westerners to put local customs and current events into context for us. She ran the tour extremely well - she repeated the day's agenda and important meeting times often, and that was very much appreciated by us since the days can run together on a busy tour like this one. She adjusted the agenda on a couple of days to accomodate people who weren't feeling well, and still got us around in good time. I would say she had just the right balance of leadership and sensitivity to lead the tour.
Helen in Cincinnati, OH, 2008
I appreciated having someone from the country leading the tour. Ayse provided much more insight into the history, culture, and contemporary issues than the American guides for my other two tours.
Bernie in Vancouver, WA, 2008
I cannot adequately express in words how fantastic and helpful Ayse was. She is a very intelligent, helpful, caring and social lady. Her knowledge of the country and other topics is truly amazing. There was not one question asked that she did not know and in a few situations that came up on our tour she handled them with grace and patience. You have a truly fantastic guide in her.
Joy in St Simon's Island, GA, 2008
Ayse was perfect as I said before, she made the whole trip worth it.
Jean in Marietta, GA, 2008
Even better than outstanding. I'm of course talking about Selcuk.
Mark in Redwood City, CA, 2008
* Tell us about the performance of your driver
Very good driver.
Maria in Port Ludlow, WA, 2006
Mahmut was amazing. The way he could manuver that bus was incredible. With only inches to spare! Wish we could have talked with him and gotten to know him better. The language barrier kept getting in the way.
Bryan in Springfield, IL, 2006
The driver was great!
Nancy in Marysville, WA, 2006
Superb! He was cautious. At not time did we feel threaten by his driving.
Sue in Edmonds, WA, 2006
The driver was very skillful and negotiated seemingly impossible streets. He was friendly although his English was very limited.

Above and beyond all he was asked to do.
Douglas Burckman, 2006
Our driver was wonderful! What a nice guy! One of the benefits of this tour is not having to drive in Turkey yourself. He was always right there and keeping an eye out for us.
Maria in Port Orchard, WA, 2006
Mamut was great. Very friendly and helpful. He was a gentleman in the finest sense of the word.
Christopher in Port Orchard, WA, 2006
friendly and very safe and efficient. I was comfortable and rarely am with someone else driving.
Margareth in Oregon City, OR, 2006

* Do you have any more comments about your tour?
Remind the next tour group that it can be very hot and to bring hat and sunscreen when spending time in the ruins.
Elizabeth in La Habra, CA, 2008
No, except that I have and will continue to recommend the tour to anyone interested in visiting Turkey for the first time.
Donald in St Petersburg, FL, 2008
It was a great tour. There was a little less free time on this tour then some of the others but we knew that going in. Because of the size of the country, there is a bit more travel as well. I would defiantly recommend this tour to others.
George in Redmond, WA, 2008
I had no idea what to expect on this tour to Turkey so was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. I have many good memories about a country I knew little about, but will now follow with much interest in years to come.
Emalie in Missoula, MT, 2008
Turkey was extremely interesting and the tour covered many facets of the people and especially the ruins, caves and markets.
John Howard,2008
The tour was really not what I was expecting, in a very positive way. It took away the pre-conceptions I had about Turkey, and made it a place I would definitely consider returning to. I am very glad we took this tour!
Bill in Kalispell, MT, 2008
Only that I would heartily recommend it to anyone else.
Joyce in LaCanada, CA, 2008
This was one of the most interesting and informative trips we have ever taken. We feel the tour exposed us to many aspects of Turkish history, life and culture. I have been immensely enriched by this trip.
Lucille in Southwest Harbor, ME, 2008
* What is the most spectecular moment for you?
One spectecular moment was going to Capadocia and I enjoyed going to the Carpet Factory and having lunch at a village woman's home.
My spectecular moment was visiting the underground city of Derinkuyu. It boggles the mind to know that this city held thousands of people in the 7th-9th century and that the inhabitants could actually live underground for as long as 3 years. It is a site that is hard to explain to people that haven't seen it with their one eyes.
Katherine in Macon, GA, 2008
Both the cistern and Topakapi Palace in Istanbul were spectacular.
Christine in Vancouver, WA, 2008
Turkey was so much more than I ever expected. I have been wanted to visit Turkey for a while now, for reasons that are not really tangible. The culture, of course, because it seemed so different than my own. I had no idea all the ancient history I would learn, I wish I had read up on it all before leaving.
Caroline in Washington, DC, 2008
Cappadocia was by far my favorite .
Anne in Powder Springs, GA, 2008
Cappadocia and Ephesus.Baloon ride.
Matthew in Redwood City, CA, 2008
So much of what we saw in Turkey was wonderful that there no particular moment that stands out.
Christ in Redwood City, CA, 2008
Hot air balloon ride in Cappadocia - clear blue sky, perfect winds, photo opportunity, always wanted to take a hot air ballon ride
Bob in Springfield, OR, 2008
We loved the balloon ride over Cappadocia. That was lifetime memorable. Loved the boat trip around Istanbul.
