Ayse was very clear in her directions and explanations and helped everyone with their concerns from the beginning to the end. Because she was born and raised in Turkey she had a real passion for her country and passed that along to us. She was very warm hearted and made us feel comfortable right away. I appreciated her knowledge and she made everything very understandable and easy to remember. I liked how she encouraged us to learn the language and just jump in and enjoy her country.

Selcuk was the very best tour guide we have had with your tours. I don't say this easily because every guide we have experienced has been extraordinary! He was our walking encyclopedia of ancient history and then all the aspects of Turkey we could ask. He seemed to enjoy us and the trip as much as we enjoyed him!

Selcuk couldn't have been better as a leader. Responses to questions about differences among sects of Islam could have been more nuanced, e.g. the difference between Shia and Sunni are much richer than the response that the Shia follow Ali.

Selcuk is incredible!! His planning and organizational skills are exceptional.His knowledge of history, political events, current events, Turkish culture, etc. were amazing and he had a great way of making history come alive. Selcuk has a great sense of humor and is able to make everyone feel comfortable and part of the group. We can't imagine a finer tour guide!!

Please see the final comments below. Selcuk has some great ideas for Turkey tours. I would hope these might be considered; the Black Sea and eastern Turkey would be really interesting to explore, and the sailing trip down the western coast of Turkey sounds idyllic.

Ayse was awesome! She was very well prepared for each day, and was quickly able to adapt our travel plans for circumstances beyond her control. She gave very clear instructions, gave informative talks on various subjects relating to Turkey, and was very patient and friendly to the tour members.

Ayse is a perfect guide on this tour- she understands current politics of Turkey and Europe, and she also understands enough about us Westerners to put local customs and current events into context for us. She ran the tour extremely well - she repeated the day's agenda and important meeting times often, and that was very much appreciated by us since the days can run together on a busy tour like this one. She adjusted the agenda on a couple of days to accomodate people who weren't feeling well, and still got us around in good time. I would say she had just the right balance of leadership and sensitivity to lead the tour.

I appreciated having someone from the country leading the tour. Ayse provided much more insight into the history, culture, and contemporary issues than the American guides for my other two tours.

I cannot adequately express in words how fantastic and helpful Ayse was. She is a very intelligent, helpful, caring and social lady. Her knowledge of the country and other topics is truly amazing. He amazed me with his driving. He could get that bus in places that I would not try in a small van! The bus was always stopless inside and out not to mention how careful he was with out suitcases. And there was always chilled water for us - and that is a job in itself. He also has a cute wit and pleasant smile for everyone.

The hike in Kapadokya could have been better described. For some unknown reason I had thought we would be hiking in narrow valleys among fairy chimneys In spite of the hike being wonderful it was a bit of a let down only because I was dreaming about something even grander.

There seemed to be a lot of conflicting information between the various handbooks, webpages. It didn't cause me any problems, but it was confusing. Also, Orhan Pamuk's memoir of Istanbul seems an odd choice for pre-tour reading. I didn't mind it as literature, but his tone seems more accurately to reflect "moody disenfranchised novelists the world over" than "all the citizens of Istanbul."

Highly recommend Luxury Tours now that I have done one. However, I normally do not do tours but I will recommend his. I selected his Turkey tour simply because it is easier to travel on a tour through Muslim environment as a solo female traveller. Could not have a picked a better experience of Turkey. Thank you.
